Good evening parents and students.
Tomorrow is Casual day! 

Students were sent home with information about Pick A Time for Student-Led Conferences which take place Thursday April 5th. The scheduler will go live at 9:00am Wednesday March 28 (tomorrow).

Today in class:

Math:
Today in math we went over transformations (reflection, rotation, translation). 
This video helps explain about the three types of transformations.
Students at first struggled to visualize and complete the transformations, but by picking a vertex and using that as a focus, students could more easily find out where they should start drawing their new translated image. 
Another thing we went over in class was that the shape and size of the figure does not change when there is a transformation.

UOI:Government
In class today,we looked at three different forms of government: Democracy, Oligarchy, Autocracy. We watched a video that briefly described a little bit about how each government is created and how they make decisions. As we watched the students filled out a graphic organizer Students also then tried to think of countries that have the different forms of governments we discussed.

St. Jude’s FC – A new and exciting soccer program has arrived at SJA. St. Jude’s FC is the official soccer academy affiliated with SJA, which is currently taking applicants for its inaugural season.  Please see flyer sent home for further information. If you are interested in joining, please fill out the flyer and send into Ms. Dawn. Let’s go St. Jude’s FC!!

A note from Ms. Ross - February after care invoices have been sent out and payments were due on March 19th. If a child’s after care invoice has not been paid in full by March 29th, then the report card will be held until payment has been received.  

A note from Ms. Bancud - You are now able to order for April Lunches. The deadline for April lunches is Friday, March 29th, 2018.  After this date, our system closes and is unable to open for April ordering.  Please make sure your child is under the correct grade. http://mydigitalmailroom.com/sja  
All payments are due on Friday, April 6th, 2018.

This month's special is 1 Pancake with Vanilla Cream for $2.50 with a side of syrup and 3 Pancakes with Vanilla Cream for $5.00 that will be available every Friday!

Payment Instructions

• There are two options to pay for lunches. Cash and Freshbooks. 

• Shortly after completing your order, a Freshbooks invoice will be sent to your email.
• It may take one or two days to process your order to Freshbooks, so please be check your email diligently for the invoice.  

• We no longer accept cheque as a method of payment.

A note from Oakwood – On Thursday, March 29, Oakwood Academy will be holding A Silent Dance. A ‘Silent Dance’ is a dance in which students are given individual headphones where they can listen to various types of music while controlling the volume.  This dance is an amazing way to foster inclusion and provide an opportunity for everyone to participate in a school dance. It provides a sensory friendly environment for all students at both Oakwood and St. Jude’s.  Admission to the dance will be $15.00 cash and this will include a drink. Please see letter sent home today for further information.
