Good evening parents and students!

Today was all about speeches as we are prepared for our final speech presentations tomorrow!
All students had a chance to do a full class practice. The students were timed and we gave each of them 1 star and 1 wish about their speech or presentation skills. Most students need to work on eye contact with the audience, memorization, arm/foot movements (do not fiddle with fingers or swing arms), and speaking slowly with a clear, loud voice.


For tomorrow, make sure to be enthusiastic, have your speech memorized, make sure that you are over 3 minutes, and project your clear voice. 

Overall, I am very proud of all the students have achieved so far and look forward to tomorrow!

Math:
We took up various different word problems from the Review and did a quick review of Multiplying and Dividing by 10,100,1000,10000 and 0.1, 0.01, 0.001. 
Students were encouraged to take home with math textbooks and look at questions from pages 137-157. I wrote down some word problems that I would suggest. They were pg. 150 #3 and 6, pg 154 #4and 8, pg 157 #6 and 8. These are just a few examples of word problems that will help students practice. Overall students did very well on the review and should be well prepaid for tomorrow's quiz. 

Language:
Today we completed our third literacy circle for the novel Hatchet. I have seen many students improve the work for their roles!

 A note from Ms. Helen, our Admissions Coordinator - As you are aware, the re-registration season is upon us and we have recently sent home packages with your child(ren). We value your loyalty and commitment to our school community and would love to continue our partnership by offering priority enrollment for our current SJA families. We kindly ask that you take a moment to review your financial statement and complete the information in the package and make any necessary changes to your place of residence, employment, email changes or any medical information that the administration should be aware of. Please be aware that in order to secure your child’s enrolment, it is imperative that you submit your re-enrollment package and fees no later than February 12, 2018 at 4:00 PM. After this date, all available grade-level spaces will be open to our families on waitlists who will then have the opportunity to secure any vacant positions.
Please bring in re-registration forms as soon as possible to ensure your child's enrollment.  Teacher requests are also taken into consideration based on the date of re-registration.

**If you have a particular teacher in mind, please do not hesitate to make a request and we will do our best to meet it.**


A note from Ms. Bancud:

You are now able to order for March Lunches. The deadline for March lunches is Friday, February 23rd, 2018.  After this date, our system closes and is unable to open for March ordering.  Please make sure your child is under the correct grade. http://mydigitalmailroom.com/sja  
All payments are due on Friday, March 9th, 2018.

• There are two options to pay for lunches. Cash and Freshbooks. 

• Shortly after completing your order, a Freshbooks invoice will be sent to your email.
• It may take one or two days to process your order to Freshbooks, so please be check your email diligently for the invoice.  

• We no longer accept cheque as a method of payment.
