Good afternoon parents and students!

The students are looking great in their summer uniforms, now if only the weather would take a hint and get warmer!
This Friday students will need to wear their full winter uniform (no hoodies) for our photo shoot.

Parents, if you would like a student-led conference tomorrow and have not yet scheduled a time, please go on to Pick-a-Time and get a spot! See you tomorrow!

**Please note that due to Student-Led Conferences tomorrows dismissal will take place from the auditorium doors (at the back of the school)**

Math:
Today we looked at lines os symmetry. Students found out that to find symmetry, if they are unsure, they can fold he paper along the symmetry line, hold it up to the light and see if the lines match. We had a little fun in class with symmetry and noticed that faces typically have a line of symmetry.

Students were also sent home with review for the quiz we will have Friday. The questions were taken from the worksheets they did throughout this week and last. We will take up the answers as a class tomorrow and I will provide extra worksheets that they can take home as extra practice.

Language:
Today we began our daily reading compression questions for the chapters that are assigned for homework each night. Many students noticed that the school environment described in the novel is very different from our own and find it hard to imagine what it would be like.

UOI: Government
I let students have more time in class today to prepare for their speech. Having watched their progress I felt that with an extra class they would feel more confident and knowledgeable going in the speech tomorrow.
Tomorrow we will also begin to learn about Canada's government! Students are encouraged to look into how our government is organized and who is in charge. This quiz about this information will tentatively be scheduled for Tuesday April 10th.

NOTES:

A note from Arts Night- We are asking that each student bring in a picture from their childhood…it can be of any change (baby, toddler, young child, etc). Please send in all pictures no later than April 20th. Thank you in advance!
