Good evening parents and students!
Today we saw an excellent dress rehearsal of the JK-2 Arts Night. It really showed us that we need to practice our song for our upcoming Arts Night on the 30th of May.
Tomorrow is the Grade 3-8 Spelling Bee!! I am very excited to see our spelling go forth and try their best within the competition!
Math:
Today we continued looking at Perimeter and added a formula to our knowledge base! We look at two ways to create a formula for find the perimeter of a rectangle:
P= (length + width) x 2
P= length x 2 + width x 2
We also looked at how to find the perimeter of an irregular polygon by simply adding up all the sides! As well as how to find the perimeter of a square (P= side x 4) or different equilateral shape.
Language:
Students continued their work on Cree art project. The projects are really starting to look good!! Students were all given rubrics yesterday so that they could make sure they are filling their success criteria. We will have our last time tomorrow to finish this project!
UOI: Project 101
Students continued to research about their computerized technology. In class I once again informed students what information should go into boxes and gave an example about snap chat! For homework, students are to complete their organizers. I will be checking these tomorrow so that students can then move on to their Prezi presentation. I will also be given a quick tutorial about Prezi tomorrow!
