Good evening parents and students!

Tomorrow is TRACK and FIELD Day!! There is also a bake sale and freezies will be on sale for $1!!
Students are to come to school in their gym uniform, bring a hat, water bottle and sunscreen!

I would like to first say a huge congratulations to both Lucas and Saanvi who came second in the Spelling Competitions. It was great to see their class peers cheer them on and wish them the best of luck.

Secondly, I want to say how proud I am of the students for waiting and watching the entire spelling bee. It showed a lot of integrity and principle! I know that it mean a late lunch for students, and that was not predicted, but it was great to see the grade 5 classes support all the Spelling Bee contestants.

Since the spelling bee went so long and the students were well behaved, I decided to have some fun in the sun! We had a long recess and they practiced their triple jump for tomorrow's track and field

We were also able to cover some Language in the morning. We looked at examples students had written with the last two days, peer assessed them and as a class discussed these assessments. It was great to see that students are really using their imaginations! The main theme of improvement that I saw was for students to add more detail about setting and character, as well as making sure they follow proper plot structure. Note from Hot Lunches:

You are now able to order for June Lunches. The deadline for June lunches is Thursday, May 31st.  After this date, our system closes and is unable to open for April ordering.  Please make sure your child is under the correct grade. http://mydigitalmailroom.com/sja  
All payments are due on Friday, June 8th, 2018.

This month's special is French Toast with Vanilla Cream and Syrup for $3.50, which will be available every Friday!

Payment Instructions

• There are two options to pay for lunches. Cash and Freshbooks. 

• Shortly after completing your order, a Freshbooks invoice will be sent to your email.
• It may take one or two days to process your order to Freshbooks, so please be check your email diligently for the invoice.  

• We no longer accept cheque as a method of payment.

A note from Hot Lunches:

Hot Lunch invoices for May are on Freshbooks and late fees have already been applied. Please go on to Freshbooks and pay as soon as possible.
