Good evening parents and students!

As a reminder, there is no school Friday and Monday. I hope families have a lovely long weekend and get to enjoy this beautiful weather!

Tonight is the JK- grade 2 Arts Night! Some of our class will also be attending as part of the choir. It is going to be a great show!

 The end of today was a treat as we had a guest speaker come in who is a computer programmer. Students had amazing questions for him and they were captivated with the answers. I think we might have some future coders among us.

Math:
Today we introduced how to calculate area of an irregular polygon and how to find the area of a triangle.
When finding the area of an irregular polygon the trick is to split the shape into rectangles so that you can more easily count the square units. Once you have found the full square units, you can move onto the other units that are not whole. Once again you want to create rectangles, so you want to extend the triangle to create a square or rectangle, count the squares and then divide the units by 2.

Language:
Today was the last day for completing the Novel Study Cree Art project. I must say that the projects that are finished look great! I am also happy to see students using their research skills to find good information for their written components. Those who did not finish their project in class must complete it for Tuesday!

UOI:Coding
Students spent their UOI time working on their Project 101. I looked at all the planners and small conferences with students as they began/continued their prezi presentations. Students are expected to finish their prezi presentations over the long weekend. On Tuesday we will go over presentation skills, put finishing touches on the prezis and practice for the presentations that will take place Wednesday.

• There are two options to pay for lunches. Cash and Freshbooks. 

• Shortly after completing your order, a Freshbooks invoice will be sent to your email.
• It may take one or two days to process your order to Freshbooks, so please be check your email diligently for the invoice.  

• We no longer accept cheque as a method of payment.
